How to Get to Grandma’s House
Grandma’s House is currently booked out months in advance. If you are a new family member and want to visit for the first time, be sure to leave your information for our mailing list at the number listed and you will be contacted when rooms are available again.
Grandma’s House is located in the middle of a quiet, mid century neighborhood. The house is conveniently located equidistant from Madison, Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois. More specifically that means Grandma’s House is located in historic Rockford Illinois. We cannot always promise it will be quiet as neighborhoods and neighbors change, but it is currently happily quiet!
Currently, Grandma is only able to see family members (that means you) on the weekends. Meaning you will arrive around 3 PM on Friday and leave after breakfast on Monday. Definite times for arrival and departure depend entirely upon grandma’s schedule. You will be notified in advance of what the schedule is.
Rates
As this is not simply a bed-and-breakfast where you are being catered to, nor simply a place of nostalgia, but includes several other in demand features, Grandma’s rates are priced accordingly.
Although we have been told more than once that with what is being offered here we could easily raise the rates, and people would gladly pay it, Grandma is not comfortable with that.
Our typical weekend rate ranges between $600 and $900 for the entire weekend. And with the average hotel stay in the country running around $200 a night not including any extras, we don’t feel that this is an unfair amount.
After all, you are not just staying here while you visit other places and explore the city. Grandma’s House is the vacation and the destination. If you come here, you come here to have your entire vacation at this place.
